The CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively operate basic firefighting equipment in the early stages of a fire. This unit is designed for workers who may be required to respond to small, contained workplace fires using first attack firefighting equipment.
Participants will learn how to identify fire hazards, assess risks, and select and operate appropriate firefighting equipment, such as fire extinguishers and fire blankets. The course emphasises personal safety, correct decision-making, and compliance with workplace procedures and relevant Australian Standards.
To ensure the quality training outcomes, all candidates need to demonstrate sufficient academic capability to complete a unit of competency. These requirements are as following:
Assessments undertaken in this course are competency-based Assessments and Assessment Tasks may include various theory and practical assessments, and observation.

Pal Education has a recognition of prior learning (RPL) process in place for students who wish to have their prior skills, knowledge, experience and education formally recognised. All students enrolling in the course are entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) or credit transfer.
RPL allows the student to be recognised for their skills and knowledge gained from previous study or work experience without repeating the training.
Credit Transfer provides the student with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications. Students will be exempted from the relevant unit of competency who are awarded credit Transfer. Students must submit a verified Certificate or Statement of Attainment issues by RTO for formal recognition.
